I saw a post on social media making a joke about the grocery store and first it made me laugh and then it got me thinking. The post read 'Think About It: if there is a 'health food' section in the grocery store, what does that make the rest of the food sold there?'. Well surely we all know the answer to that question.
To me it is kind of sad, a lot of people I encountered really do not know even know what they are eating. And that 'food' found in the natural food section usually isn't that good for you anyways. If the grocery store wanted to get it right, the fruit & vegetable section would be the 'health food' section and the rest would have a giant question mark. So what are they selling in the 'health food' section these days. Not all bad I suppose if you are comparing it to the other isles of highly processed foods. But it really isn't that much better. Still highly processes, they switches a few ingredients of this for that. But if you really want to take your diet seriously head to the colourfully displayed produce section. In my opinion, if we have to be told by a label that something is "good for us" it very well may not be. Labels are trying so hard these days to convince us that what is inside the box will make us healthy. Have you ever purchased a box of organic, health conscious crackers and the picture on the box is of rosemary and whole grains and everything that makes you feel good about it. And then gone home and eaten the whole box with a tub of hummus or dip. Maybe it isn't just the food we are eating but our habits of eating. Do you eat more of something that you think is healthy because your guilt is under wraps. I know I do, or use to. We all know it to the core, eating whole, fresh, organic fruits and vegetables is the BEST way to assure we are eating healing.
